Strategic Plan Summary
MISSION
Committed to revitalizing Colfax Avenue from Colorado Boulevard to Yosemite Street, The FAX Partnership mission is to restore Denver’s historic Main Street by establishing a vibrant, destination district. It seeks to do so by implementing a variety of long-term programs focused on economic and community development, crime prevention, small business improvement, corridor outreach and marketing.
Economic Development
Goal: Provide significant support to FAX businesses through the variety of different programs.
-- Launch GreenFAX, an effort to provide energy audits and energy/design efficient grants for small businesses and buildings along The FAX in coordination with the Mile High Youth Corps, a green collar job training organization.
-- Maintain The FAX Motel Roundtable discussions with owners and managers to discuss issues, focus on crime prevention, improvements, etc.
-- Launch education effort to become a business imrpovement district by working closely with businesses and property owners.
-- Work with small businesses, including introduction to planning and loan programs, businesses locations, etc.
Goal: Pursue economic development by becoming a community development corporation focused on developing a signature, mixed-use development as well as encouraging other new business opportunities.
-- Work closely with SeedCo and Urban Conservancy to build a partnership focused on the Quebec District on The FAX, to include project planning and financing.
-- Work closely with the City and County of Denver Planning and Public Works Departments on improvement district planning and participation on any pilot programs.
-- Host another Micro-Developer/Investor Summit with the city and other partners, identifying loan programs and areas of potential reuse and redevelopment along Colfax.
Community Programming
Goal: Continue effective programming with different neighborhoods and other organizations to support The FAX.
-- Launch the shared marketing portion of www.thefaxpartnership.com for local businesses. Use the website to distribute information on FAX businesses and local programs.
-- Launch Food for The FAX, a food collection program in coordination with the Colfax Community Network and Food Bank of the Rockies to assist the families living in the East Colfax motels.
-- Conduct regular public meeitngs to share information and gather feedback on initiatives.
-- Continue to host Feast on The FAX, a popular restuarant sampler.
-- Continue the efforts of Colfax Avenue Watch to support crime prevention efforts of Police Districts 2 and 3.
-- Continue to focus building relationships between businesses, neighbors, governmental officials and others through networking opportunities like First Tuesdays on The FAX, a program focused on reinforcing our sense of community, shopping local and improving Colfax together.
